Could you please provide some background information about yourself and the work you’re currently engaged in?

The company Novojet, with over 20 years of experience in the world of watersports, is located at the marina of Sancti Petri. An old almadrabero town,
within the Natural Park of Bahía de Cádiz, opposite to the Punta del Boquerón with, in the background, the Castle of Sancti Petri (3000 years of history).
We are surrounded by nature, culture and history. Since 2011 we are certified with the brand quality Natural Park and we have been also awarded as Tui Sustainable Supplier
for our commitment to ocean conservation awareness.

What prompted your awareness of the issue of plastic pollution?

As we carry out our activity in the sea and also within a natural park, we have always been aware of the need for its conservation. We have to protect the
environment in which we work, and plastic pollution also has serious health consequences, so by adopting sustainable practices we can ensure our
long-term viability.

How do you envision your participation in the race contributing to raising consciousness about significant environmental issues?

Since the first edition of the Sancti Petri SUP Race, we have wanted to highlight the importance for us of the conservation of the oceans and our coasts, so we
have been carrying out small actions within our means: Reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles. We set up water dispensers for
participants to refill their reusable bottles. Use of mineral and organic creams. Ocean-friendly. Collaboration with suppliers who share the same values.
Waste management.

In the last edition, we gave a lecture on the importance of ocean conservation and the SDGs by the Sustenta Foundation before awarding prizes.
For this edition, the lycra will be made with the company Glassy europe of sequal material. We want to join the EUROPEAN MARITIME DAY which aims to give visibility to the
sea and spread its importance. Sustainability also means circular economy and we count on local suppliers.
We inform the participants through our communication channels.

From your perspective, what qualities do you believe define a contemporary hero?

Commitment and passion.
Actions speak louder than words.
One must take measures and follow through, inspiring others along the way.

Where do you typically seek trustworthy information and updates regarding plastic pollution? What are your aspirations for the future?

To make this an enjoyable event but one that raises awareness among participants and spectators.
