WEAR TO FLY: a new brand for conscious and smart travelers

Wear To Fly aims to revolutionize travel by offering versatile garments (and more) that enhance efficiency—both in terms of budget and packing—without sacrificing comfort. The project was developed by Diana Yanes, a designer passionate about recycled and sustainable materials, with the goal of providing a solution for frequent travelers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a functional, all-in-one garment that eliminates the need for a carry-on, extra bags, or accessories.
More than just a company offering smart products, Wear To Fly aspires to create an inclusive community of conscious travelers who use their products to write new chapters in their lives. In short, Wear To Fly embodies community and consciousness, versatility and functionality, comfort and design.

Who is behind the project?

Wear To Fly and FlyOn Jacket have been conceived and designed beginning to end at the Diana Yanes Consulting Studio in Milan, owed by Diana Yanes, co-founder of Wear to Fly. Diana is a passionate advocate for sustainability and social responsibility in fashion. With more than a decade of experience in designing eco-conscious products and collaborating with communities, she launched this project to merge her love for fashion, practicality, and environmental consciousness. Diana’s vision for Wear to Fly is to create products that serve real needs while also addressing larger social and environmental issues. But Diana is not alone in this, her team and key suppliers have been key to the development of this project.

What is FlyOn Jacket?

FlyOn Jacket is a thoughtfully designed travel jacket made to carry on average 7kg and replace carry-ons. It features 14 smart compartments that provide storage for travel essentials making it ideal for 3-5 day trips. Two RFID-blocking pockets are built into the jacket for added security, protecting sensitive information from digital theft. To add more versatility to the way we travel with FlyOn Jacket, they have designed a SmarTote bag, that can store the jacket fully packed during hot days, protect it while storing it underneath the seat, and have a place to store your garments and belongings once you arrive at destination. FlyOn Jacket is proudly designed in Italy, and during 9 months it was prototyped and sampled at the Diana Yanes Consulting HQ in Milan. For the production phase, they have found an incredible B-corp in Kenya with which they are already working on samples and gradings.

What is your commitment to sustainability?

Sustainability is not optional for us, it’s simply the way it should be, and because we wanted to push forward current sustainability standards claimed by brands, we decided to prototype and sample at Diana Yanes Consulting. By doing so, we contributed to enriching its social integration project. We chose our factory knowing we wanted to continue working with the highest human standards, so we found the best B-corp for FlyOn Jacket. And partly this is why Seaqual caught our attention immediately! Not only the recycled and upcycled material but all the social side after it by empowering local communities as they clean up rivers and oceans. Last but not least, we are in the search but very commited to work with the best possible logistics partner that will help us reduce to the maximum on air transportation.
