RITA ROW: when fashion meets sustainability
Italy
2024
RITA ROW's collection made with SEAQUAL YARN reflects the brand's unwavering commitment to addressing plastic pollution.

Through this collection, RITA ROW merges contemporary style with a powerful message: “We aimed to make an impact while offering timeless, beautiful pieces that our customers can feel good about wearing”.
How did the RITA ROW project come to life?
RITA ROW was born in Figueres (Girona) in June 2013 and is the brainchild of two halves: Imma Serra and Xènia Semis. They both aimed to create elegant and functional clothing, under a local and ethical production. They created Rita, an imaginary persona that embodied the ideals of a liberated and creative woman.
Who is behind the project?
Rita Row was born from the vision of Xènia Semis and Imma Serra, and today, we’re a team of 10 women, many of whom are mothers. We are all united by our love for fashion and a deep commitment to sustainability.
How do you define fashion in today’s world?
Fashion today is a powerful tool for expressing individuality while also is a reflection of our values. It’s no longer just about aesthetics but also about responsibility. In today’s world, fashion moves fast, with trends and fast fashion at the forefront but we’re committed to a slower, more thoughtful approach to the industry.
Can you share a few words about your commitment to sustainability?
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do at RITA ROW. We are deeply committed to ethical manufacturing practices, working primarily with local suppliers in Spain and Portugal to reduce our carbon footprint. We carefully select materials that have minimal environmental impact, mostly using certified fabrics. Our production process ensures that all workers are treated fairly, paid a living wage, and work in safe conditions. We believe that sustainability should not be a trend but an integral part of fashion’s future.
How did you learn about SEAQUAL YARN, and could you share some details about your collection made with SEAQUAL YARN?
We discovered SEAQUAL YARN through our ongoing research into sustainable fabrics. We were immediately drawn to the initiative because it aligned perfectly with our mission to create fashion that not only looks good but also does good. SEAQUAL YARN is a recycled material made from marine plastic waste, which fits our ethos of reducing environmental harm. By incorporating SEAQUAL YARN into our designs, we aimed to make an impact while offering timeless, beautiful pieces that our customers can feel good about wearing.
