Environmentalist, Fisherman
Salva Manera
Selva de Mar, Spain
At sea, life is different. It’s not made up of hours, but moments
Salva has been promoting collaboration projects between scientists and artisanal fishermen his whole life; projects linked to conservation and to the reduction of fishing litter, in order to transfer knowledge and take care of the sea. The projects are developed at the Cap de Creus and Roses Natural Parks.
As well as this, Salva has been holding environmental awareness workshops on marine waste and artisanal fishing for many years. It is his way of transmitting his passion for showing the sustainable and healthy side of the sea and the huge problem of plastics and marine waste.
He is committed to raising awareness, listening and joining efforts to change things and improve the quality of life of the ocean and also that of people. What is more, for the past 6 years he has been running a clown show dedicated to educating about marine waste, “PESCAPLÀSTIKS”, which he takes to primary schools and town halls.
The collaboration with SEAQUAL INITIATIVE will allow Salva to show the importance of recycling and not damaging the environment with intensive types of fishing and how to fight plastic pollution in the ocean
